Fugit, Leah Mae
79 of Peoria, called home to Heaven August 20, 2015. Born 12/2/1935 in Phoenix to James Leon & Esther Gilbert. Grew up in Glendale and graduated from Glendale H.S. She married Norman Carter 10/1/1954. Survived by her husband, sons Craig (Debbie) of Charlotte and Mark (Debra) of Peoria; 5 grandchildren; Nicole (Adam) Bowen, Matthew and Lauren of Charlotte as well as Austin (Naomi) of Peoria and Kyle of Chandler; 4 great-grandchildren; Mamie Lynn and John "Jack" McCullough Bowen and Elliana and Colton Fugit; sister Mary Sorenson & many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her loving parents and sister Betty Schroder. Retired from the City of Glendale in 1989 and then worked for her son Mark until 2011. Visitation from 6 - 8 pm Thur. Sep. 3rd at West Resthaven Funeral Home. Memorial service at 10:30 am Fri. Sep. 4th at 1st Baptist Church-Sun City; 111th Ave, & Peoria. Memorial donations may be directed to or Leah's church.
