MacCoull, Leslie Shaw Bailey
70, of Tempe passed away at her home on August 26, 2015. She was born Aug 7, 1945 in New London CT. Preceeded in death by father William Wood Bailey and mother Louise Shaw, and Step Father Neil MacCoull. Survived by brothers Robert Bailey of New Milford, CT, Pat Bailey and Nick Bailey of St. Thomas, USVI, and sisters Kit Cornell of Exeter, NH, BJ Bailey Glanville of Kittery, ME, Darcy Bailey Kulesha of Greendale, WI, and cousins Beverley Shaw Quintana (NY), Laurie Coleman (FL), Ray Coleman (NC), Deb Coleman Lafrenier (FL), Susan Wabnitz (NY), Jane Moore (NC) and many good friends in Tempe. The Phoenix Chorale's Brahms Requiem performance on Oct 17 is in Memoriam of Dr. Leslie S.B MacCoull. She is remembered as a papyrologist, Byzantinist, historian, and is well published in the world of papryology. Her book, Dioscorus of Aphrodito (1988) was revolutionary for its day. For the past twenty years she was an Academic Associate and Editor for the Arizona Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies, using her command of languages on a wide variety of topics.
