Jorgenson, Lillian Mildred
was born to Mr. and Mrs. Gustav Larson on February 15, 1919 on the family dairy farm near Wonewoc, Wisconsin. She was the youngest of six children and was raised with five brothers, Walter, Edward, Arthur, Lawrence and Charles. She graduated from Wonewoc High School in 1935. On January 27, 1944 she married U.S. Army Air Corps Captain Howard D. Jorgenson. The Air Corps became the Air Force and Lillian served beautifully as an Air Force wife until her husband retired in June 1960. In June 1961 the Jorgenson family moved to Prescott, Arizona. During the fifty years Lillian lived in Prescott she was very active in her church and her community. Lillian was Prescott's First Lady from 1967 to 1971 when Howard served as mayor. She served on various church boards and in 1977 she became the first woman moderator in the 97 year history of the First Congregational Church. Some of Lillian's other activities in the community involved the P.E.O. Sisterhood, theatrical productions at the Prescott Center for the Arts, and volunteering at the Prescott VA Hospital. She was a real estate agent for the DeRosa and Associates Century 21 office from 1980 to 1993. Lillian was blessed to be married to Howard for 59 years until he passed in 2003. In 2011 Lillian moved to Scottsdale to be closer to her children. She passed away on November 16, 2015. Lillian is survived by her three children, Christine Webb, Timothy Jorgenson and Peter Jorgenson, her six grandchildren, Kendrick Webb, Sarah Sego, Caroline Jorgenson, Emily Jorgenson, Brendan Jorgenson and Erica Jorgenson as well as two great-grandsons, Nathan Sego and Connor Sego. A memorial service will be held at the First Congregational Church in Prescott on December 7, 2015 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Yavapai College Foundation, 1100 East Sheldon Street, Prescott, AZ 86301 for The Lillian M. Jorgenson Nursing Scholarship.
