Lois Elma Wetzler best friend, avid animal lover, aunt and sister passed away on August 28, 2015 in Phoenix. She was born in Price, Utah on December 8, 1930 to Elmer Taylor and Jessie Quate Stringham. Lois married Ed Wetzler on March 15, 1958 in Phoenix. She had a passion for animals raising thoroughbred horses, showing championship dogs, watching birds and befriending countless cats. Lois served in the US Air Force and had a successful 35 year career in business and computer technology with the Mead company. She was an outstanding athlete excelling in tennis, bowling and softball. Lois loved the outdoors and had a particular passion for fishing. She liked adventure and enjoyed many trips to Rocky Point, Mexico with her dearest friends. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Jack (Quate), Elmer Jr, Gerald and sister Betty. She is survived by her brother Robert of Springfield, Missouri, her sister Marge Mele of Salt Lake City, Utah, her sister-in-law Vera Brunson of St George, Utah, many nieces and nephews and her beloved cats Leo and Silky. The family would like to give special thanks to Lois' best friend Beverly Shilliday of Peoria, Arizona for the many years of friendship and care she and her family provided to Lois - thanks Bev. At the request of Lois, no funeral service will be held. An interment ceremony will be held at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona on September 16th at 11:00 am. Following the interment ceremony, a celebration of Lois' life will be held at the Courtyard by Marriott North Scottsdale located at 17010 N. Scottsdale Rd. Memorial donations can be made in her honor to the Arizona Humane Society - Pets Rule.
