Charles Barehand, Lorene "Renee"
73, of Phoenix, Arizona, went home to be with the Lord on September 3, 2015. "Renee", as she like to be called, was born to Stacy Nelson and Candace Redbird on September 29, 1941 in Phoenix, AZ. Renee was passionate about her music ministry and her work in the Native American Communities. She didn't limit her music ministry to her church, but shared her gifts of song and as a pianist with six other Indian Communities. She remained very active until her retirement in 2014. Her ministry took her as far as Idaho and South Dakota. Renee was a true servant of the Lord and will surely be missed. Renee was preceded in death by her parents, brother Richard Nelson and sisters Gloria Johnico and Genevieve Chamema. She is survived by her loving husband Delmar Barehand; children Marshall Charles, Jr and Regina Charles; sister Bernice Nelson; brother Ricky Nelson; grandson Marshall Charles, III; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins. The Visitation will be from 6:00-10:00 PM, Friday, September 11, 2015 at Central Presbyterian Church, 37 East Indian School Rd., Phoenix, AZ. The Funeral Service will begin at 6:00 AM, Saturday, September 12, 2015, at Central Presbyterian Church. Burial to follow at the Pee Posh Cemetery at 75th Ave. and Dobbins Rd., Gila River Indian Community in Laveen, AZ. Arrangements entrusted to Lowmans Arizona Funeral Home, Inc., (602) 276-3601.
