Bunn, Lyle E.
Loving husband and father, passed away March 27, 2016 at the age of 83 in Mesa, AZ. Funeral services will be held on Thursday (March 31, 2016) at Mariposa Gardens, 400 S Power Road, Mesa, AZ 85206 at 11:00 a.m. There will be a viewing one hour prior to the funeral service. Cremation will take place after the service, with burial at a later date at Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park. Lyle Erwin Bunn was born November 28, 1932 in Lemmon, SD to Gilbert and Gertrude Bunn. He graduated from Lemmon High School in 1950 and graduated from National School of Business in Rapid City, SD in 1952. He married Colleen Nash in Ft. Pierre, SD on June 8, 1952. To this union two children were born, Debra Jean (1954) and Kenneth Dean (1957). He became a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Rapid City in 1952. He served his country for two years in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict with the 11th Cavalry stationed at Camp Carson in Colorado Springs, CO and Ft. Knox, KY. His wife accompanied him during his tour of duty. After his honorable discharge, they returned to Rapid City to establish a stable, loving, and nurturing home for their children. He worked for Barber Transportation for 2 years and then at Northwest Pipe Fittings, Inc. for 28 years. He enjoyed sports, was great at problem solving for repair projects, and attending his children's school activities was always a high priority. After retirement in 1985, he and his wife began spending their winters in Mesa, AZ and finally moved to Mesa permanently in 2000. Lyle was preceded in death by his father (1959), by his mother (1987), by his daughter Debra Miller (2004), and his wife Colleen Bunn (2005). He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Annette Bunn of Phoenix, AZ; a brother and sister-in-law, Rollie and Kay Bunn of Livingston, TX; four grandchildren, Bryen Miller of South Bend, IN; Eric Miller of Goshen, IN; Jackie LeDoux of Austin, MN; Joe Perez of Excelsior, MN; eight great-grandchildren; four nephews; one niece; and their families. He will be missed by all his family and friends, but will be joyfully remembered, forever. Memorials and cards may be sent to his residence at 8260 E Keats Ave #506, Mesa, AZ 85209.
