Mabel Bertha Boniface Obituary
Boniface, Mabel Bertha
87 years, of Sun Lakes, Arizona quietly passed away at home on October 29, 2015. Mabel was born in Morristown, New Jersey to Alexander Ackermann and Jenny (Hilton) Ackermann. Early on, she worked as a secretary in the Empire State Building in New York City. Later, with her kind heart, she dedicated her time taking care of her grandmother. While swimming at a community pool nearby, she met the love of her life and eternal husband, Donald Boniface. They had four beautiful children together: one boy and three daughters. The family moved in 1958 to Tempe, Arizona, where they resided for 20 years. While there, they often went camping all over unspoiled, scenic country roads throughout Arizona and other western states (before freeways). Mabel worked at Motorola as Quality Assurance for over 28 years, retiring in 1990. After the children were grown and out on their own, Donald and Mabel moved to the Sun Lakes Community. Mabel was a very talented artist in many aspects; she could paint, tap-dance, play the ukulele, and sing like an angel. She even sang with the Sun Lakes glee club, The Cordelles. She was a very kind and caring person. She often contributed to a women's shelter in Chandler, Arizona, and she was one of the first to become involved with Neighbors Who Care. Mabel was a very positive, optimistic lady, even through her trials and tribulations. She will be remembered for her bright smile, her crooked sense of humor (the way she could make anyone laugh), and most important her love for her family. She follows her husband, Donald Charles Boniface, and her son, Christian Donald Boniface, into Heaven, along with her parents and siblings. She is survived by her three lovely daughters, Jenny L. Nelson, Kathleen M. Boniface, and Diane D. Hobbs. She also leaves behind her "ebber lubbing baby" canine companion, Teddy, as well as, 6 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren with one on the way. She is always and forever in our hearts and memories. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at 2:00 pm in the Sun Lakes Chapel, 9240 E. Sun Lakes Blvd N., Sun Lakes, Arizona 85248. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to either of the following: NEIGHBORS WHO CARE, 10450 E. Riggs Rd. #113, Sun Lakes, AZ 85248 (480) 895-7133. , 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014 (602) 530-6900. * List Kathy Boniface as the contact recipient.
