Margaret Elaine Ogsbury Obituary
Ogsbury, Margaret Elaine
of Phoenix, Arizona passed away on March 7, 2016 at the age of 90. A member of the greatest generation, Elaine Pfeiffer was born in Denver and married Earl "Jack" Ogsbury, a serviceman in the Army Air Corps, in 1944 during World War II. They started a family in the Pacific Northwest before joining relatives in 1952 in the management and ownership of the Coronado and El Dorado motels in Nogales. The family moved to Phoenix upon the sale of the motels in 1960. Elaine became a widow shortly after her fiftieth wedding anniversary and proceeded to diligently manage the family investment business. Whip smart and wryly funny, Elaine took tremendous care and pride in raising a family. A loving mother, she served as PTA president, Girl Scout leader, and constant tutor to her three inquisitive children. She was also remarkably devoted to friends and neighbors and was a constant source of comfort and care to those in need. Whether she was visiting the hospital, preparing meals for the grief-stricken or providing aid to a stranger, her compassion was manifest and unstinting. She is survived by two daughters, Carol Anne Ogsbury of New York City and Janice Lynn Ogsbury of Cottage Grove, Oregon; a son and daughter-in-law, James and Christine Ogsbury of Lakewood, Colorado; and a granddaughter, Julia Michelle Ogsbury of Eugene, Oregon. Per Elaine's wishes, no service will be conducted.
