92, Scottsdale, AZ. Mary Lou passed away on Tuesday, October 4th. Mary Lou was born in Lincoln, NE on June 1st, 1924. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1941 and University of Nebraska in 1945 with a degree in Business Administration. In 1946 Mary Lou married her best friend, Perry Branch, when he returned from service in World War II. Mary Lou moved to Rochester, NY in 1950 when Perry accepted a job at Eastman Kodak Company following graduation from Nebraska. Throughout her husband's career, Mary Lou gave her time and leadership to many volunteer organizations including the Junior League of Rochester, MS Society, American Red Cross, Monroe County Health Planning, Planned Parenthood and Rochester Philharmonic. Her special interest was Rochester General Hospital where she served on the Women's Board for 13 years. She was elected to the Hospital Board of Directors in 1974 becoming the first female President of the Board in 1981 and serving in that capacity until 1983. She was the recipient of the Forman Flair award in 1979 in recognition of her outstanding volunteer service to the Rochester community. An enthusiastic golfer, Mary Lou was a member of The Country Club of Rochester and Arizona Country Club, playing well into her late eighties. Mary Lou was devoted to her family. She is survived by two daughters, Suzanne McGinnis (Michael Nardella) and Sarah Silcox (C.B.) both of Scottsdale; five grandchildren, Charles Silcox (Holly) of Tempe AZ, Jamey Silcox of Peoria, AZ, Sarah Ahrens (Jim) of New Providence, NJ, Meghan DeCell (David) of Katy, TX, and Molly Gaudreau (Dan) of Mesa, AZ; and eight great-granddaughters, Josie and Corinne Silcox, Alexis, Madeleine and Genevieve DeCell, Teagan and Quinn Ahrens, and Charlotte Gaudreau. There will be a memorial service to celebrate Mary Lou's life at 2:00 on Friday, October 14th in the Ocotillo Room at Vi @ Grayhawk, 7501 E. Thompson Peak Parkway, Scottsdale, AZ. The service will be followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers the family requests that gifts be made to the Latta & Perry Branch Memorial Fund of the University of Nebraska Foundation, Lincoln Mall, Suite 300, Lincoln, NE 68508 or , 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014.
