Gibson, Marvin Ray
77, of Sun City West passed away on May 19, 2016 surrounded by his family. Born in Yale, OK to John and Cora Gibson, Marvin was raised in rural Oklahoma. At age18, he joined the American Air Force. His first assignment was in a small village of Northern France where he met and married Josette Sueur-Gibson; together they raised a family and traveled the world. 23 yrs after the military, he settled in Phoenix, AZ for 36 years where he retired from Sprint Communications. He is survived by his daughter Carolyn Gibson-Clark, son Carl Gibson, granddaughter Allie Clark-Swartz, and great granddaughter Sofia Swartz. Marvin was a good ole guy who greeted everyone openly and loved to ask "where are you from?" He represents an era that will not come again, a gentleman, humble family man, soldier, patriot, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved him. All of his family and friends are invited to a Military Honors memorial service as way to honor this veteran and show deep gratitude to MSgt Marvin Gibson, in times of war and peace, he faithfully defended our country. The memorial service date & time will be determined later. Please contact the family to attend. Memorial donations may be made in Marvin's name to the Salvation Army.
