Duke, Marvin William
82, passed away at home August 17, 2015. Born in Phoenix, Arizona March 10, 1933 to William and Opal Duke. He joined the United States Coast Guard at age 17 during the Korean War, serving in the Pacific, Hawaii and Florida. While in Florida he attended a dance at the USO and there met his future wife, Grace, who was on vacation from Canada. After his discharge Marvin and Grace were married in Toronto, Canada September 12, 1953. Later sealed in the Mesa Temple. They would have celebrated their 62nd anniversary next month. In 1980 they moved from Phoenix to Prescott and started their own company, Duke Insulation. After they retired they travelled by RV, taking cruises and enjoying their family. Marvin and Grace were blessed with three children, John (Lea) Duke, of Prescott Valley; Dianne (Kent) Chamberlain of The Woodlands, Texas and Linda (John) Barenz of Prescott; 15 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren. Also surviving are 2 brothers, James Duke of Chino Valley, Don Duke of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and sister Phyllis Zale of Cornville, Arizona. Visitation will be 10:00 AM with services at 11:00 AM Monday August 24, 2015 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter - Day Saints 1101 Sandretto Drive Prescott, Arizona.
