Greenburg, Mary Mildred (Hermanson)
71, of Gilbert, AZ, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2015 with her loving family and close friends by her side. She was born on November 22, 1943 to Laverne and Dorothy Hermanson. She attended St. Mary's Catholic High School in Phoenix. Mary worked for Motorola and Reynolds Aluminum where she was a member of the United Steel Workers of America Union. She later worked for the Deer Valley School District and then became a Special Needs Bus Driver, Supervisor, and Liaison in Transportation for Gilbert Public Schools for the last 29 years. Mary loved and cherished her family and friends! She loved baking with her grandchildren and taking them to see plays. She enjoyed scrapbooking and collecting Dolls, Barbies, and Elvis Memorabilia. All Holidays were special to Mary, but hosting her annual Christmas Party was her favorite! Yearly, friends and family from the past 50+ years would gather in her beautifully decorated home to celebrate. Mary was truly an inspiration to everyone she met. She always had a smile on her face and had a way of making you feel special and loved! She will be missed immensely! Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Laverne and Dorothy Hermanson and 2 brothers, Bud and Kenny Hermanson. Mary is survived by her 2 daughters Suzann Sponseller (Dave) and Nancy Northern (Lanny) and 4 grandchildren, Zachary David Sponseller, Courtney Ann Grandil, Stephanie Mary Sponseller, Tatum Emily Northern and 4 siblings, Lois Leonardi, Roy Hermanson, Tim Hermanson, and Kyra Westlake. Mary's services will be held at Queen of Heaven Catholic Mortuary, 1562 E. Baseline Rd, Mesa, on Saturday, September 12th. Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. and a memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to truthlovechange.org or .
