Schroot, Myra W.
85, of Scottsdale passed away on September 15, 2016. After retiring from the Prudential Insurance Co., Myra donated countless hours working for the American Legion Auxiliary, Unit #44 , where she held the position of President for several years as well as various other board positions with the desire to improve conditions for American Veterans, Children in Youth and Americanism. Myra was also a Lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary, Post #3513. She held various positions there as well which included Chaplin. Myra was preceded in death by her daughter, Colleen Wethor, her son, Michael Wethor and granddaughter, Jessica Wethor. She will be greatly missed by her husband Edward, great grandchildren Dominic, Thomas and Deborah Davies, step daughters Carol McCourt, Debbie Struble and Tina Boles, brother Terry Curtin and family and sister, Kay Ficklin and family. An internment service will be held at The Veterans National Cemetery 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd., Phoenix, on Monday, September 26th at 11 a.m. A memorial funeral mass will be held at St. Daniel the Prophet Catholic Parrish, 1030 N. Hayden Rd, Scottsdale on Wednesday, October 5th at 11 a.m. Following the mass, A Celebration of Life, will be held at the American Legion, Post #44, 7145 E. 2nd St., Scottsdale. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Neighborhood Christian Clinic, 1929 W. Fillmore St., Phoenix, AZ 85009.
