Hesterman, Naomi Ruth
81, of Murray, UT passed away peacefully on March 23, 2016. Naomi was born in Salt Lake City, UT May 22, 1934. She lived most of her life in Phoenix, AZ. Naomi worked at Primary Children's Hospital as a nurse's aide, took classes at LDS Business College and also studied cosmetology. She contributed many articles and tidbits to magazines and wrote a book, To Love a Mockingbird: How Rescuing a Baby Bird Blessed Our Home. Naomi considered her husband Lenny to be the most romantic man on Earth. They married in the Salt Lake Temple September 17, 1956. Naomi lived a life of service and love. She cared for her five children, brought meals to families in need and helped young mothers learn how to cook and take care of their sick children. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved to read the scriptures. She shared her testimony with anyone who would listen. She served as a ward missionary with her husband, and completed 100% of her visiting teaching for 54 years. She would race to be the first to the pulpit on Fast and Testimony Sundays. Even after her memories began to fade away, her testimony continued to grow. Naomi is the daughter of daughter of Victor LeMar Terry and Ruth Goldie Landis. She is survived by five children; Bryce, Scott, RuthAnn Hogue, Lynda Zollinger, and David; and many grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She is also survived by four sisters and a brother. Naomi is preceded in death by her husband, Lenny Hesterman and a granddaughter, Micayla Zollinger. A viewing at 9:00 am followed by a funeral at 10:00 am will be held on April 9th at the LDS chapel located at 5033 North 38th Ave in Phoenix, AZ 85019. Her burial will be at Greenwood Memory Lawn, 719 North 27th Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85009.
