Freyer, Norton
Norton D. Freyer of Scottsdale, AZ and formerly of Oak Park, IL died on Friday, August 21 at the age of 90. He served his country bravely in World War II as a member of the 13th Armored Division and afterwards attended Drake University in Iowa where he met the love of his life, Carol (nee Kaufmann). They married in 1948 and settled in Oak Park where they raised their two daughters, Wendy and Jill. Nort was a successful businessman and owned several retail clothing stores in the western suburbs of Chicago. In 1991, Carol and Nort retired to Scottsdale. He is survived by his wife Carol of almost 67 years, daughters Wendy (Fred) Barrett and Jill Lazar (Scott Small), grandsons Richard (Brian) Barrett and Mathew (Janine) Horwich, brother-in-law Donald (Harriet) Kaufmann, nephews Steven (Alexis) Kaufmann and Robert (Jennifer) Kaufmann, and nieces Leslie (Mark) Sidell and Ellen (the late David) Goot. He will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers contributions to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America are appreciated.
