Patricia Kathleen Wilkinson Obituary
Wilkinson, Patricia Kathleen
Patricia Kathleen Wilkinson, Born 1930 - Entered into Heaven 2013, Patsy was born in St. Louis to a large Irish-French family and raised on a dairy farm. While she had fond memories of her childhood, she often said she'd be happy if she never saw another cow! With bright green eyes and Irish red hair, she was a beauty working at an auto dealership when she met the love and destiny of her life. In 1950, she married Robert Wilkinson and they began their 56 year adventure of faith, love, and laughter. 'Papa Bob' often said 'I knew I'd marry her the moment I saw her'. Moving to Phoenix in 1958, they worked hard, raised 8 children, and kept the Catholic faith as the foundation of their family. Being active in her parish, she wrote the church bulletin, decorated the alter and backdrops, and drove on many field trips. There was little time with 8 wild children, but Patsy always sought the beauty in nature and loved to paint and draw. Pat and Bob continued to work hard through challenges and they prospered, always sharing their home with family, friends and strangers. There was always a place at the table, a shoulder to lean on, or a dollar to share. Pat's sense of humor and welcoming nature always put people at ease and there was no place more comfortable than in Nana's kitchen. Nana's legacy of love and faith, along with her mantra of "Family First" has resulted survivors too great to list them all. They are summarized as follows: Eight children: Kevin, Kim, Kathleen, Mary, Sherry, Kristina, Kurt, and Kerry; 28 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren with more on the way. Nana lost the love of her life, our dear Papa, seven years ago. She missed him terribly and we all were heart-broken by her sorrow and subsequent illness. We are now filled with joy and thanksgiving as she is finally united with Papa in Heaven. We were privileged to grow up witnessing such an amazing and devoted love. always said "better and better!...well, it's true. GOD IS GOOD. We pray that you and Papa are watching over all of us and we love you with all our hearts. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 9:30 a.m., Friday, April 26, 2013 with a view and rosary at 9:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, 2121 S. Rural Road in Tempe.
