Patty Pinson Obituary
Pinson, Patty Jo
Patty Jo Pinson, age 68, died tragically in a fire at one of her two cabins in Lakeside, AZ on October 25, 2015. Patty was born February 10, 1947 in Prescott, AZ. She was the daughter of the late Chris Pinson and his wife Mary Louise Pinson. Patty also was preceded in death by her beloved brother, Chris Pinson, in 2003. She lived in Phoenix for many years and graduated from Central High School in 1964. She later attended Phoenix College and NAU. She received her nursing diploma from St. Joseph's Medical Center and then began a long career as a nurse and in health care related businesses. Patty worked side by side with Phoenix Fire Department personnel to develop its first paramedic program. She also helped develop programs for training firefighters and park rangers with Advanced Life Support and Basic Life Support Programs. Patty became the Director of Air Evac and then she was Director of EMS at Samaritan Health Services, which is now Banner Health. She left Samaritan to be the President of L&A Discovery, which was a hospital revenue recovery company. In the early 1990's Patty formed Pinson & Associates, also a hospital revenue recovery business. With her friends and colleagues, they made the business very successful for many years. The business name was changed to Advanced Reimbursement Management in 1996. Patty was one of ten finalists for the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce's prestigious Impact Award for Valley small businesses. She was very involved in Valley Leadership for many years. Patty sold her stake in the business in 2008, which allowed her ample funds to retire. Retirement also gave her time to ride her Harley and attend motorcycle rallies, which she loved. Her lifetime passion was animals and owning 3 dogs and 3 cats wasn't enough for Patty. She purchased three adjoining properties in Lakeside, a beautiful location on Rainbow Lake. The idyllic setting by the lake became home to at least 15 ducks, 15 chickens and 2 large black pot belly pigs. Referring to her as an animal lover would be an understatement and she cared for them as if they were her children. Patty is survived by her adorable one-eyed Yorkie named "Pee-Wee". The service will be held at A.L. Grimshaw Mortuary, 710 W. Bethany Home Rd., Phoenix, AZ on December 10, 2015 at 10:30 am. Flowers may be delivered to the mortuary or in lieu of flowers please make a donation to St. Joseph's Medical Center, 350 W. Thomas Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85013. A luncheon at Paradise Valley Country Club will follow the service. To send condolences please visit www.almoore-grimshaw.com
