Luke, Paul Aaron
of Sun City West passed away on September 10, 2015 at the age of 87. He donated his body to the Alzheimer's Research Institute. He was born in Picayune, Mississippi January 27, 1928 and moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico as a child. Paul graduated from Albuquerque High School and attended the University of New Mexico before being drafted into the Army during the Korean War in 1946. He served 9 years active duty and then served 21 years in the Army Reserve retiring as a Major. In late 1990 he retired from his civil service job and moved to the Sun City community where he enjoyed golfing, traveling with family and friends, RVing and dancing. Paul was a kind, gentle man who loved his family dearly. He is survived by his loving wife Marsha, to whom he was married for almost 55 years; son Kevin; granddaughters Rebecca, Melissa, and Kjersti; grandsons Thor and Bjorn; in addition to six great grandchildren, Kai, Adriana, Daisy, Hunter, Addison, and Judah; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Myrtle Luke; brothers Schubert and Leon; sister Nell Downer; daughter Linda; and sons Stephen and William. A celebration of Paul's life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at West Valley Bible Church, 13939 West Grand Avenue, Surprise, AZ 85374. Interment will be at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona. In lieu of flowers, gifts can be made to West Valley Bible Church or Hospice Family Care, 13540 West Camino Del Sol #1, Sun City West 85375.
