Pauline Davis Hagler Obituary
Hagler, Pauline Davis
93, of Scottsdale passed away on Saturday October 8, 2016. Pauline was born in Terre Haute, Indiana. During World War II Pauline worked as a telephone operator and in a flower shop in Crawfordsville, Indiana. She was married to Louis H. Hagler at the family home in Waynetown, Indiana. They built their first home in Crystal Lake, Ohio. They were given a veterans loan for building supplies. Shortly after World War II they built a second home near Wright Patterson Air force Base. This was the home to Lynetta Ruth, Gwinlyn Margret and Louis Henry. Research and job transfers brought the family to New Mexico, New York and Arizona to seek the right climate for Louis Henry. A dryer climate was needed to assist with her sons hearing loss and eardrum damage. During this time Pauline developed her own business for children's clothing (The Youth Shoppe) and was elected "Business Woman of the Year" in Alamogordo, New Mexico. The dryer climate in Arizona proved to be helpful and the Hagler family flourished with community interests (The Scottsdale Library, Scouting and The Pinnacle Peak Home Owners Association. She was a member of "Business Women of Scottsdale", and a longtime member of the League of Women Voters.) Pauline assisted 5 Methodist Churches with building fund raisers and, outreach missions to help homeless families stay together. She worked as a Realtor for 39 years, assisted to establish the Arizona Board of Realtors and worked as an Arizona Democratic Registrar for voting. As a member of the Creative Women of Pinnacle Peak she helped raise $40,000.00 for medical supplies, field trips, educational programs with books for foster children and was awarded "Creative Woman of the Year" for assisting grants for her passion "The Desert Center of Pinnacle Peak." This Remarkable Lady loved her FAMILY. Six Grandchildren, Five Great Grand Children, Real Estate, Tennis, Horseback Riding Checkers, Ice Cream, Violets, and loved to say "Be Sweet".
