The Hensley family with heavy heart, announce Philip Snow Hensley, 82, of Phoenix, passed away at his home on December 17th, 2015 with family by his side. He was born on December 17th 1933, in Knoxville, TN. Philip was a businessman, salesman, restaurateur, home builder, and investor. He married Trudy the love of his life, in Cleveland, OH. Philip and Trudy moved from Cleveland in 1973 to Phoenix, with their two sons. In his youth he played the fiddle with Roy Acuff, who is a member of the Grand Ole Opry. "Yes that Opry" He also loved playing the harmonica, for family and friends. From humble beginnings in Tennessee, and merely a high school education, (2nd from last in class) of which he would proudly tell you, he became what is known as a self-made man. He was a member of the Scamps, a Hiking group for 40 years. Ben Avery was also a member of the Scamps. Philip and family hiked the Grand Canyon, Havasupai, as well as numerous other hikes throughout Arizona. Also, a member of the Sundance Wranglers Dance group, performing at many locations throughout Phoenix, even at times performing at the Arizona State Fair. Residing in Pinetop for the summers, he was also a member of the Elks. Philip and his family, hiked, laughed, danced, and enjoyed life together. Traveling to many destinations, some being, a cruise to Alaska, New Zealand and the ABC islands…. Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao. Philip is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, his sister Lee, two Sons, Phil, Gary, and Daughter-in-law, Marylu. Four Grandchildren, Krista, Justin, Sean, and Garison. Four Great grandchildren Nathan, Taylor, Hudson and Tucker. Memorial service will be held sometime in January Phil was born into this world and born again into Heaven on his Birthday.
