Ralph Gunn Obituary

Ralph S. Gunn passed away on December 21st, 2005 in Scottsdale, Arizona of natural causes. He was born on April 22, 1908 in Smithshire, Illinois. After graduating from the University of Illinois he came to Wasatch Academy in Mount Pleasant, Utah where he met his beloved Alice. He served as superintendent of Wasatch for 25 years and subsequently held positions as Business Manager of Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah and Chapman College in Orange, California. Upon retirement he and Alice moved to Rossmoor in Walnut Creek, California where they enjoyed 10 wonderful years prior to Alice's death in 1989. His entire life was devoted to serving others. He held many positions in the Presbyterian Church including treasurer at Grace Presbyterian Church in Walnut Creek. He also was a volunteer driver for Meals On Wheels and served as treasurer of the Walnut Creek Fine Arts Association. Ralph moved from Rossmoor to the Palms in San Luis Obispo, California and passed away while visiting his daughter Clarice in Scottsdale, Arizona. He is survived by two daughters -- Clarice Black of Scottsdale and Norine Fernandez (Delvis) of San Luis Obispo -- five grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. A private service was held in Scottsdale on December 23rd. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, December 28 at Oakmont Memorial Park in Pleasant Hill, California. In lieu of flowers please send contributions to Wasatch Academy in Mt. Pleasant, Utah.
