Raymond Earl Brown died December 7, 2011 in Gilbert, AZ and was born in Dawson Springs, on August 30, 1928 to Fred and Ruth Spence Brown. He moved to Flint, Michigan with his mother in 1935. In 1937 he returned to Dawson Springs to live with his grandparents, George and Emmie Spence. Shortly after his 16th birthday he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served for more than 25 years, including service in France, Germany, Korea and Vietnam. He retired from the Army in 1970, he then moved to Tempe, AZ and went to work for the U.S. Postal Service in Phoenix, AZ from which he retired after 22 years in 1992. He moved back to Dawson Springs in 2002. He was preceded in death by his parents and two wives Anna Gesumaria Brown in January 1994 and Joan Lindsay Brown in October 1999, one brother Clyde Wayne Davis in 1998. He is survived by his present wife Christine Wagner Brown of Dawson Springs, three sons, Michael Ray of Lexington, S.C., Glennn Wayne of Mayer, AZ and Raymond Brown Jr. of Irvine, AZ. Two brothers, Ricky Brown of CA, Lowen W. Brown of Denver, CO. One grandson, Justin Brown of Lexington, S.C., and two granddaughters, Aubrey Brown of Atlanta, GA and Amanda Brown of Chandler, AZ. He was a Life Member of the VFW and American Legion, Member of the National Association of Letter Carriers BR 576 Phoenix, AZ. His faith was Nondenominational Christian. A visitation will be held Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 8:30 a.m. at Queen of Heaven Mortuary, 1562 E. Baseline Road, Mesa, Arizona 85204. Following the visitation, a Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Queen of Heaven Mortuary.
