86, of Peoria, AZ passed away on 1/18/2013. Bob was born in Syracuse, NY on 8.15.1926 to Floyd and Aura Bastedo. At the age of 17, Bob enlisted in the United States Navy and served as a radioman in the Pacific during WWII. Afterwards, he worked for the US Government as a civilian attached to the US Air Force. After a five year stint in West Germany, Bob returned to the United States with his family and worked as a government employee at Luke Air Force Base. When he retired from government service, he went to work for Loral/Goodyear as a logistics manager. In his retirement he enjoyed playing golf and was an avid reader. Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy and his sisters Margaret, Doris and Thelma. Bob is survived by his daughters Judy (Randy) Todaro of Glendale, AZ and Donna (Joe) Myers of Coeur D'Alene, Idaho. Grandchildren Robert (Katie) Myers, Stephanie Chatters, Elizabeth Myers and Christopher Todaro. Great granddaughter Aubrey Baker. Nephews Richard (Susan) Whelan and Michael Whelan. Nieces Mary (Neil) Rudd and Jackie (Steve) Aloi.With all our gratitude we would like to extend our sincere appreciation for Maria Balint, Lucy and Dani of Fletcher Heights Assisted Living for their loving and compassionate care provided to our father. Thanks also to Aimee Hertig of Banner Hospice and Dr. Michelle Gabbert for providing outstanding and compassionate medical care. Internment to be at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona. Services to be private.
