Robert Cruz ""Kat"" Altamirano Obituary
Altamirano, Robert, "Kat" Cruz
Robert "Kat" Cruz Altamirano peacefully left his home and danced through heaven's gates on November 7, 2015. He was met by his beloved wife Juanita, brothers, sister and parents. Those mourning his loss include sons Dennis (Belinda) & Robert, Jr., daughters Barbara & Linda (Dominic), six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and countless family & friends. Born September 19, 1928 in the small mining town of Superior, Arizona, Robert was fondly known as "Mr. Katz" for his stylish looks and ambitious spirit. After serving in the Korean War, Kat settled in California where he met the love of his life and together they returned to Arizona to start a successful pool plastering business in Glendale, now operated by his family 40 years later. Kat spent his life dedicated to his family, his business and the people who meant so much to him. With a voice comparable to his idol Frank Sinatra, Kat loved singing, dancing and movies. He was respected, revered and loved beyond measure. A farewell viewing will be held on Sunday, November 15, 2015 from 3:00 pm-6:00 pm with a Rosary and tribute celebration at 4:00 pm at Heritage Mortuary (6830 W Thunderbird Rd in Peoria). A 10:00 a.m. funeral mass will be held Monday, November 16, 2015 at Saint Thomas More Catholic Church (6180 W Utopia Rd in Glendale) with interment at Holy Cross Cemetery immediately following. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Robert's honor to .
