Robert "Bob" Houser Obituary
Houser, Robert "Bob" Neal,
88, of Prescott Valley, passed away on August 22, 2015. He was born in Mesa, Arizona on September 19, 1926 to Mary Frances (Love) and Clarence Neal Houser. Bob grew up in Roosevelt, AZ, where his father was employed by the Salt River Valley Water Users (SRP). The family later moved to Phoenix, and Bob graduated from North High and Phoenix College. He also attended ASU. Bob joined the Army Air Corps in 1944 and received training as a B17 tail gunner. He was fortunate not to see combat. Bob joined the Phoenix Fire Department in 1954 and worked as a Captain at Fire Station No. 1 until his retirement in 1980. Upon retirement, Bob and his late wife Mary, who died in 2010, moved to Mayer, AZ. He joined Mayer Volunteer Fire Department and served as Fire Chief for a number of years. Bob was active in numerous clubs and organizations, including The First Families of Arizona, Model Railroad associations, genealogy societies and Lions Clubs. Bob was a past President of the Bradshaw Mtn Lions Club. Bob is survived by daughters Caroll Houser (Brian) Myers and Lori Cline; grandchildren Eric, Alex, and Allea, and great grandson Joshua. He is also survived by his brothers John R "Dick", James C (Annie), and sister Mary Franks, and nieces and nephews. Bob will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. A Celebration of Life will be held on September 26, 2:00PM at the Mayer Fire Department, 11975 S. SR 69, Mayer, Arizona. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation in Bob's name to .
