Obituary Condolences

Bennett, Robert James
Bob Bennett, 88, passed away on July 24th, 2013 in the comfort of his home with his loving wife of 67 years, Mary Lou, and his family by his side. Bob honorably served his country as a Navy Veteran of World War II. He traveled to 41 countries during his tour of duty, and he proudly reflected on this experience throughout his life. He was a high voltage electrical sales representative prior to retiring. He was a member and former President of The First Families of Arizona and Valley of the Sun Horseless Carriage Club. He also served on the alumni board of North Phoenix High School for over 10 years. Bob was an amazing husband, dad, papa, friend, gentleman, and
hero. He enjoyed telling jokes to everyone he met, including but not limited to: store greeters and cashiers, food servers, bank personnel and passing joggers. It brightened his day to make someone laugh. Bob is survived by his wife, Mary Lou, three children Robert Bennett (Marilyn), Leigh Bennett, Cyndi Hughes (Bob) six grandchildren Julie Boddicker, Christina Crane (Shane), Melinda Utterback (Micah), Brendan Hughes (Chandra), Bobby Bennett (Janell), Shelby Hughes (Scott), twelve great-grandchildren, Carli Jo, Caitlin, Jake, Joshua, Joy, Bobby, Brooke, AmyLynn, Jonathan, Luke, Lachlan and Joey. A celebration of Bob's life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 3rd at Messinger Mortuary Chapel 7601 E. Indian School Road, Scottsdale. Please dress casual and wear something yellow in honor of Bob.
