When Robert Joseph Pencek died Earth wept and Heaven rejoiced! Robert (Bob) died peacefully October 9, 2015 in Scottsdale, Arizona at the age of 94. Bob is preceded by his loving spouse of 73 years, Lillian (Stefula) married on May 2, 1942, whom he sorely missed during the 4 months preceding his passing. Bob and Lillian raised three children in Addison, Illinois: Dr.Terrence (wife Billie) Pencek of Springfield, Illinois; Pamela (husband Joseph) Best of Virginia Beach, Virginia; and Roger (wife Stephanie) Pencek of Scottsdale, Arizona; as well as his grandchildren Juleah Best, Jason Pencek and Captain Tyler Pencek (USMC); great-grandchildren Izaiah and Izabelle. Later in 1968 as a civilian contractor trained our troops in the Vietnam War working on heavy machinery for the military. Bob enjoyed working, employed by his choice till he was 89 in Illinois. He was a passionate hunter and fisherman; especially in Lake Petersburg, Illinois where he and Lillian lived until they moved to Scottsdale in 2009. Our dad was the best model, summed up best by when we were kids said "When you fall off our bikes, get back on", was our earthly mentor, always faithful and taught us tenacity. Bob and Lillian were inurned in Springfield, Illinois with military honors at Camp Butler Veteran Cemetery this summer 2015. Please visit www.hansenmortuary.com for condolences.
