Goodman, Robert "Bob" Lee
87, moved to his heavenly Father's house on September 25, 2015 after battling cancer and dementia. He is survived by his sisters Jean Hill and Myrna Goodman, his beloved children Joyce Burgmann (Phil), Kevin Goodman (Nancy), Carol Lynn Sipus (Ron), Becky Logsdon (John, deceased), Thom Greene (Sandi); 13 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. Bob was born in St. Lawrence, So. Dakota on October 10, 1927 and moved with his family to Ladora, Iowa a couple of years later. He graduated from Ladora High School in 1948 and spent two years in the army where he earned the rank of staff sgt. He honed his culinary skills while in the army, and his family reaped the benefits of that-especially enjoying his apple pies! Bob worked in construction and remodeling starting his own company, Goodman Construction in 1959. He served on the town council in Ladora and as a deacon and trustee at Victor Baptist Church. After moving to Glendale, AZ with his wife Bobbe in 1977, Bob worked at Paul's Scottsdale Hardware, O'Malleys and finally Home Base before retiring. He served at Apollo Baptist Church and later North Phoenix Baptist Church where he faithfully attended for 30 years. He enjoyed fishing, wood working, gardening and puzzles. Bob was a godly, gentle man whose caring nature and sense of humor endeared him to his family and friends. He will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held at Christ's Church of the Valley, 7007 W. Happy Valley Road, Peoria, AZ 85383 on Saturday, October 3, 10:00 a.m.
