Warner, Ronald J. Sr.
73, of Fountain Hills, AZ, passed away October 15, 2015. He was born in Newark, NJ on March 21, 1942 to Francis and Gladys Warner. He was a police officer in Bloomfield, NJ for 10 years before moving to Arizona in 1976 where he continued his law enforcement career with the Paradise Valley Police Department where he ultimately attained the rank of Lieutenant, a position he held until his retirement in 2005, culminating a 38 year law enforcement career. He also assisted in the introduction of the Service Arizona on line program, doing commercials with several national celebrities. Ron was very active in the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Phoenix Chapter and on the board of directors, serving on several chair committees. He had received the Spirit of Philanthropy Award in 1997 and the Volunteer of the Year NMSS award in 2000. He also served on the board of directors for the Eagle Mountain HOA community as a security consultant. Survivors include his wife Johanna, of 52 years; sons Edward (Patricia) and Ronald, Jr. (Mary); Grandchildren Josh, Hunter, Nick and Madison and brother Richard (Anna). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and Godchildren. Visitation will be from 6:00PM - 8:00PM with Rosary at 7:00PM on Sunday, October 18th at Messinger Mortuary, 7601 E. Indian School Rd., Scottsdale. A funeral Mass will be held at 10:00AM, Monday, October 19th at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 7655 E. Main St., Scottsdale. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Phoenix Chapter, 5025 E. Washington St., #102, Phoenix, AZ 85034.
