Olson, Roy Oliver
90, of Tempe passed away on September 16, 2016. Roy served in the Army in WWII, followed by Northwestern University. He had a gift with words and won national awards during his advertising career with Armour-Dial in Chicago. Roy and his family relocated to Tempe Arizona, where he worked for Maricopa Country until his retirement. He had a deep faith in Christ and served as a voluntary Chaplin at the Veteran's Home in Phoenix for years. Roy is survived by his wife Marilyn, his daughter Susan Beardslee (John) of Chandler, daughter Laurie Hachtel (Brad) of Phoenix and grandsons Andrew and Aidan Beardslee and Spencer Hachtel. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews throughout the Midwest and East. Roy will be buried at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, in Phoenix, with a military service for immediate family in October. A celebration of life open house will be held for extended family and friends, to be announced. Arrangement handled by All Options Funeral Home - Tempe, Arizona (480) 214-3104.
