Sharon Lee Spease Obituary
Spease, Sharon Lee Cudahy
who resided in Sedona for nearly 30 years, passed away peacefully on November 25 in Tempe, AZ. She was 90 years old. Sharon was born on July 11, 1925 in Portland, Oregon to Susan Elizabeth and John William Cudahy. She attended Grant High School and then Oregon State University, where she was a proud member of the Chi Omega sorority. In 1948 she married John Richard "Jack" Spease, her loving husband for more than 60 years. In addition to raising their four children, she was a passionate volunteer. While living in Phoenix, Sharon served Phoenix's Heard Museum in various capacities. After moving to Sedona she volunteered in the emergency room at the Verde Valley Medical Center. Along with her husband Jack, she was an active member of Sedona's St. Andrews Episcopal Church community. Sharon loved Native American art, traveling, the outdoors, reading, and sewing. But most of all she loved spending time with her many friends and family, and her beloved shelties. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack, and her brother, Daniel Berry Cudahy, and is survived by their four children; Steve (Irmi) Spease, Stacey (David) Harowitz, John (Laurie) Spease, and Nancy (Greg) Wilson, as well as nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A service for Sharon will be held at 11:00 a.m. on January 23, 2016, at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Sedona, AZ. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the Humane Society of Sedona (2115 Shelby Drive, Sedona, AZ 86336) or to St. Andrews Episcopal Church (100 Arroyo Pinon Drive, Sedona, AZ 86336).
