Sherrell passed away at her home in Phoenix after battling cancer. She was a Beautician for over forty years, the last twelve years being a barber. She worked right up until the end as a barber in Sun City West. She had many wonderful clients that she wanted to thank them for all of their support. She loved her family and took great joy in her home. Sherrell loved her many nieces and nephews with each one of them feeling they were her favorite. She was the hearthstone of the family. She was preceded in death by her infant son, Richard Lee Smith, parents, Slim Whipple and Lilyan Ivie, brother, Ardell, and a sister Victoria. Sherrell leaves behind 5 sisters: Barbara Johanning, Afton Johnston (Roger), Kathleen Cook (Ken), Janet Banister (Bill), and Janice Nickerson (Dick), 11 nieces and 14 nephews. A visitation will be at Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary 7924 N 59th Ave, Glendale AZ 85301, Thursday, December 20th, 2012 from 5:30-7pm. With services at 10am on Friday, December 21st, 2012 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints 4748 W Orangewood, Glendale AZ 85301. Graveside services will take place on Saturday, December 22nd, 2012 at Show Low Cemetery in Show Low AZ at 11am. Condolences may be offered at www.greenacresglendalemortuary.com
