Obituary Condolences

Buoninfante, Stanis Louis
On July 10, 2013, Stanis Louis Buoninfante, at the age of 74, was called back home to God. Stan was born on April 23, 1939, to Stanislaus Buoninfante and Marie DeSiena Buoninfante at Lutheran Hospital in NYC and raised in the Morris Park section of the Bronx. Stan is survived by his loving wife, Teresa, of 46 years, daughter Teresa (and William) Sammon, son Richard (and Carla) Buoninfante, brother Louis, sister Rosemarie and six nieces and nephews. Blessed with musical talent in his youth, he became a musician playing as a drummer and singer in catering halls and jazz clubs. He did this while attending Machine and Metal Trades HS in NYC from which he graduated in 1957. This education led him to a career where he became President and CEO of Mod-A-Can, Inc. with locations in Hicksville, NY and Phoenix, Arizona. As a devout Catholic, Stan shared his talents with his Church, St. Bartholomew's, in Yonkers, NY, and began a Folk Group that he led for 40 years. He was also a proud and active member of the Westchester Chordsmen. He will be greatly missed by a countless number of friends, scores of parishioners from St. Bartholomew's Church, the Westchester Chordsmen, co-workers, loyal Mod-A-Can employees, and most especially his loving family. Viewing will be held at Sinatra Memorial Home, located at 601 Yonkers Ave., Yonkers, NY, on Tuesday, July 16th from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm and again on Wednesday, July 17th from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on July 18th at St. Bartholomew's Church, located at 15 Palmer Road, Yonkers, NY. In lieu of flowers and to honor Stan's memory, the family is requesting donations be made to either New York-Presbyterian Hospital, 622 West 168th Street, New York, NY 10032; The Lung Transplant Foundation, PO Box 331216, Raleigh, NC 27636; St. Bartholomew's Church, 15 Palmer Road, Yonkers, NY 10701; Covenant House, 461 Eighth Avenue, New York, NY 10001; or The Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256.
