Stephen Allen Polowski Obituary
Polowski, Stephen Allen
67, of Tempe, Arizona, beloved dad, brother, cousin and friend passed away peacefully on Sunday January 24th, 2016. Steve was born in Camden, New Jersey, moving to Arizona and settling in Cornville. He is survived by his loving wife, Kathy, children Theresa, Matthew, Michael and Andrew Polowski and sister Jean Polowski Reilly (Pat) as well as many other family and friends. Steve graduated from Mingus Union High School in 1966 and went on to graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Arizona State University in 1970. Steve continued his formal education at Arizona State and Northern Arizona University (NAU) graduating with Masters Degrees in Public Administration and Business Administration, respectively. While at Arizona State for his Masters Steve met his wife of 37 years, Kathy and were married at the Newman Center at ASU. After living in Casa Grande and Flagstaff, work took them to California where he started his 27 year career at General Dynamics in Contracts Management. Steve was actively in service at Holy Spirit Church as a Eucharistic Minister and Safe Environment trainer. He loved to travel; especially to National Parks and any location with historical significance. Steve also loved to be engaged in his children's sporting endeavors whether that was coaching at St. Mary-Basha Catholic School, cheering from the side lines or volunteering at Seton Catholic Preparatory High School as a line judge or statistician. Steve will be dearly missed by all. The family suggest donations to NAU Newman Center in lieu of flowers. Visitation will be held at Queen of Heaven Catholic Funeral Home, 1562 East Baseline Road in Mesa from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with Rosary recited at 6:30 p.m. on Friday January 29, 2016. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Spirit Church, 1800 E. Libra Dr., Tempe, AZ 85283 with a reception immediately following. Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery in Mesa. Condolences may be made online at www.queenofheavencatholicmortuary.com. Arrangements entrusted to Queen of Heaven Catholic Funeral Home, Mesa, AZ.
