Steven Davis Obituary

Davis, Steven Radcliffe
29, was born in Phoenix, Arizona to Dale and Mary Ann Davis. He lived a happy and full life and graduated from Shadow Mountain High School and from Arizona State University with a criminal justice degree. He served a faithful full-time mission to the Spanish-speaking areas of Milwaukee, Wisconsin for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served faithfully in many church positions. Hard work enabled him to fulfill his dream of becoming a police officer by joining the Arizona Department of Public Safety and working as a highway patrolman for 5 years. He loved serving with his fellow officers and was grateful for their love and support. He was preceded in death by his older brother, James Dale Davis, his grandfather, Carroll Davis, and his grandmother, Margene Wilson. He is survived by his parents and his siblings - Ray (Amanda) of Liberal, KS; Connie, Randy, Christina (Philip) LeSueur of Phoenix, AZ, 6 nieces and nephews, grandmother Maureen Davis, grandfather Alma Wilson, and many aunts and uncles, and cousins. Steven will be remembered for his service, humor, kindness, and hugs. Visitation will be Friday, February 1 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Hansen Mortuary, 8314 N. 7th St, Phx, AZ. Services will be Saturday February 2, 2013 at 11:00 am preceded by visitation from 9:30-10:45 am at the LDS Chapel, 3601 E Shea Blvd, Phoenix. I think about your beautiful family often and in fact every time I see a DPS officer in a public place where I'm able to approach them I always ask if they knew Steven Davis and without hesitation they say yes and agree with me what a wonderful person he is. May this new year be a happy, joyful time for you and your's and hoping Hawaii is a wonderful time spent for you Mary Ann and Dale. Love, Shirlyn

Family is EVERTHING! I am so grateful for an Uncle who is always willing to help with dental work and for an aunt who makes their home our home too so that we could have a lifetime of memories with Steve. There is "sharks and minnows" in the pool (whoever thought a game we made up as kids would still be played by us as adults!), There is camping in the back yard of the old house and the lost sock that always came in the mail later. There is the New Yorker/wings, a "couple" with Garry, late night runs for shakes and movies and most of all a whole lot of love and laughs. Thank you to a family that made Steve's passing feel more like that passing of a brother than a cousin. We will love and miss him until we get a hug from him again.

I remember the first time I met Steve. He came and helped some of the middle school kids play flag football. His cheerful and loving attitude made football even better. He is and was so kind and helpful. The world is a much better place because he lived in it. You will truly be missed Steve.

Heaven's an even better place now! I wish all my pictures of my Seminary and Scouting years weren't still in storage since our Mission. I have some great ones of Steve. He was one of my very favorite ones to work with in Scoutiing and also when I taught Seminary. Steve always had a smile, hug and kind word for everyone as I observed during his growing up years. He will be missed. Our love and prayers to a special family. Shirlyn & Jim Allen

Steve,,,, you truly were and always be one of my favorite cousins. I will feel lost not having someone to pester me to come to Phoenix every phone call... Or having someone compare their months of "pregnancy" with me every week... Or to sandwich hug me every time I see you.

Steve, you had a light about you that lit up everyone else when you were around them. A presence that made everyone feel important when they were around you.

I'm sure God had bigger and better for you. He had much more work that needed to be done, that only a Man like you could do.

We will always hold the memories, and the reassurance in our hearts that we will be able to see you again.

Give Grandpa a squeeze for us.

Love,

YOUR favorite Cousin :)... Melissa.
