Smith, Thomas James (Tom)
85, of Phoenix Arizona passed away on October 28, 2016 after suffering injuries in a motor vehicle accident. Tom was born in Wewoka, Oklahoma on May 8, 1931 to T J and Verna Lee Smith and raised in Grayville, Illinois. He served in the US Navy from 1951 to 1955. He married Lucy Ann Brown on March 30, 1956. In 1964 they moved to Phoenix, Arizona where he was employed as a machinist. He coached Little League baseball for 14 years. His band, "Tom Smith and the Drovers" played country and western music in small clubs for over forty years. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Aileene Prickett. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lucy Ann, and children, Michelle Lind (Frank), Thomas Jr. (Sandy), Tammie Neary (Jim), Logan (Annette) and grandchildren, Eric, Ryan, Kayla, Jenna, Logan Jr. Jayme, Cody, nieces Donna Taylor and Shannon Cornell, nephew Tim Langford and their children and grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 14, 2016 at Phoenix Memorial Park and Mortuary. Phoenix, Arizona.
