Beck, Rabbi Victor Ira
Rabbi Victor Ira Beck, 65, of Phoenix, AZ, formerly of New York, passed away suddenly on January 18, 2014. He retired after many years as a cantor at B'nai Sholom of Rockville Center, Long Island. He was past president and member of multiple Jewish organizations and founder of Congregation Eitz Chiam of Ahwatukee. He was part of a delegation of Rabbis and cantors who had a private audience with Pope John Paul II. His melodious voice allowed him to perform at Carnegie Recital Hall as well as many other famous venues. Victor was predeceased by his father Stanley. He is survived by his mother Phyllis, his beloved wife of 42 years, Sharon, son Eric, daughter Jodi and brother Mitchell. He was loved and will be missed by all. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 23, 2014 at Valley of the Sun Cemetery, 10940 E. Chandler Heights Rd., Chandler, AZ 85248. Arrangements by Sinai Mortuary.
