Pyne, Virginia M.
91, passed away April 10, 2016. Gini moved to Phoenix in 1958. She worked for Goodyear Tire and Rubber and the Arizona State Hospital specializing in PTSD. Originally born in Chicago, raised by her grandmother Emily Leonard, they used to make summer trips to Phoenix in a Model T. She loved to dance and the jitterbug was her favorite. Gini loved to sew and design her own clothes, which later led to her championship shopping, which was passed on to her daughter and granddaughters. She also worked for the railroad in the early days of computers. Gini moved with her family to Seattle, Washington in 1951; she was a homemaker and Girl Scout leader. Gini played volleyball for the YMCA Women's Northwest Championship Team in 1955. She bowled on the Don Sanderson Ford Team from 1958 to 1961. Gini is survived by daughter, Holly O'Brien; son, William A. Schelling (Anne); granddaughters, Becky Simons (Ron) and Jeanine Baber; Great Granddaughters, Lindsay Clevenger (Jason), Ariel Baber, Lauren Baber, Madison Simons and great great granddaughter Kyla Clevenger. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Don Baber. Gini's wish for no services will be honored.
