Walter was an amazing mentor with a heart of gold and a lot of love to give. Although I did not know him very well, my encounters with him were always positive and informative. He was passionate about what we do as CASAs for foster children, and he will certainly be missed by his CASA family.

Walter was one of the leaders in our new CASA training last year. The stories and experiences he shared about the difficult kids he has worked with was inspiring. I was so impressed with the difference he made in the lives of those he touched, even though at the time he said he felt like he wasn't. The CASA program has lost a great mentor, teacher and hero. Rest in peace!

I have known Walter for years as a fellow CASA. i am shocked about his passing as I just saw him last month. Walter was always engaging, was always upbeat and willing to share his expertise especially about his teens
The CASA program will surely miss him.
Many thanks to his family for sharing him as a CASA for the many years he served

Walt was a hoot, especially when I went on sales calls with him. Big eyes, and always a "back up plan". I guess he learned that in the Army. I never knew about his Special Forces background. Selling computers must have been a piece of cake after his military service. He had a nice car too! The first guy I knew in the 80's that owned a Porsche Turbo Carrera with the "whale tail". RIP Wally!!!

I had the pleasure of working with Walter as a CASA and I have never met a more caring, kind,
dedicated man. Walter had a hard time saying
"No" to taking new cases and working with older
youth. He was so knowledge of services that could be offered to those youths in need to help make their lives better. He always told his cases the truth and took no excuses for bad behavior but one could always see his patience and genuine care for
these troubled teens. The CASA organization is indeed correct when they say we have lost a HERO!
Thank you Walter for making a difference in the lives of so many! We miss you!

Walt was such a kind soul. I worked with him at DEC. He was always willing to help others in the office and shared his positive outlook. Thanks to Walt for his years of selfless service. My prayers are with his family.

I worked with Walt at DEC back in the '80s and he always had a positive and happy attitude. I saw him most recently at a DEC reunion lunch and he still had his cheerful approach to life. He will be missed.

Always a kind word and a smile from Walt. We worked together for many years at DEC. My thoughts and prayers are with you. No doubts... ;-) Walt is smiling down on all of us...
