Porter, Wanda
passed away on August 19, 2013. Wanda Lee Cunningham Porter, 86, passed away on August 19, 2013 at the Eckstein Patient Care Unit in Scottsdale, Arizona, following a brave battle with cancer. Born in Mesquite, Texas, Wanda was the middle daughter of Charles D. and Stella Shipp Cunningham. Wanda became a radio operator for Delta Airlines in Dallas, Texas in 1945, where she met her future husband. Wanda and James "Artie" Porter were married on January 20, 1946. During their marriage, they lived in Texas, Louisiana, Panama Canal Zone, Alaska, Tennessee, California, and Arizona. Married for 57 years, they spent the last 11 years in Arizona to be near their only daughter and her family before his passing in 2003. Proceeded in death by her sister Betty G. Davidson, Wanda is survived by her daughter Debra Peaser, son-in-law Edward, granddaughter Courtney, great granddaughter Bryanna, sister Linda Wright, nieces, nephews, and family members on both the Cunningham and Porter sides. A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at Pima Hall, Shadow Mountain Village Mobile Park, 8780 E. McKellips Rd., Scottsdale, AZ. on Sunday, August 25, 2013 at 2:30pm.
