Woodward, Wayne E.
was born December 29, 1926 and went to be with his Lord on September 15, 2015. Wayne's life was a love story from the very beginning. His early years were spent on a farm in Kansas where he met Helen while attending Berryton High School. He devoted his service to the Navy as a gunner on a PBM during WWII. In 1947, he married Helen, the love of his life. Wayne's college years were spent at Kansas State (Go Wildcats) where he graduated as an Electrical Engineer and acquired jobs at Wright Patterson in Springfield, Ohio, Boeing in Wichita, Kansas and Sperry Flight Systems where he was employed for 31 years until his retirement. His daughters, Pamela, Paula and Penny, were the lights of his life and his sons in law, Greg (Pam) and Richard (Paula), provided the sons he never had. His grandchildren include Clinton Condit (Deena), Amanda Lamoreaux (Sean), Aaron Ligon (Jessica), Sydney and Sarah Howard, each whom had a special bond their Papa. Now comes the fun part, great grandsons Liam Condit, Conner, Parker, and Austin Lamoreaux, Evan Lauderdale and Ryland Ligon. He is survived by his sister Phyllis Worthington of Kansas, as well as nieces and nephews in Kansas, Texas, and Arizona. His was a life well lived. Celebration of Wayne's life will be held at Willowbrook United Methodist Church. 19390 N. 99th Avenue, Sun City, AZ on September 26, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with a gathering in Wilson Hall afterwards.
