William Benjamin Bell Obituary
Bell, William Benjamin
93 of Phoenix, passed away on July 15, 2013. He was born on December 15, 1919 in Baltimore, Maryland to Eugene Harvey Bell and Maud Perry Bell. He was surrounded by his family and will be remembered as a wonderful father, loving grandfather, and a patient and kind great-grandfather, but always a gentle and loving husband. William accomplished a lot in his lifetime. He was a veteran of World War II. He worked at a place called, "Cat's Paw", a company that made rubber heals for women's shoes in Baltimore, Maryland. He worked in the shipyard in Goodyear, Arizona and in Richmond, California. He worked for the City of Phoenix as a foreman and retired from this job and was a security officer for a housing complex. He worked at Northern Arizona University for many years and also worked at Wal-Mart. He believed in hard work and living your life to the fullest. He traveled the world and often worked two jobs to provide the best for his family. He was a calm and intelligent man who will be remembered for his polished shoes and crisp white shirts, as well as the thick books on his nightstand and his reading glasses. He lived and watched the world change around him, but he maintained his principles and his beliefs that a man provides for his family and ensures that they have the best education, so that they can provide for themselves. He is survived by many family members who will always love and remember him. His legacy continues on through the loved ones he left behind: His wife: Amanda Blanche Bell; His daughters: Cynthia Whitfield, Katherine (Carl) Rhodes, Tryphena Campbell, who passed away, in 2005.His grandchildren, great grandchildren and son-in-laws: Robert Knight, Malek Ames; Maria Elaine (Martin) Hall, Jasmine, Luca, Malcolm; Kathy Scoggins; Natalie (John) Vraney, Leandra, Elizabeth, William, Isabella, Nathaniel, Savannah; Angelina (Matthew) James and Esther, and his niece Jean Bell. We love and will miss him dearly. We hope to live our lives by the great example he set. Services entrusted to South Mountain Mortuary.
