Yvonne Beighlie Obituary
Beighlie, Yvonne
Yvonne, 81, died May 23, 2016 after a brief illness. Due to her sweet smile, gentle spirit and natural-born elegance, Yvonne was the "First Lady" of Lura Turner Homes for Adults with Developmental Disabilities, where she lived an abundant life since 1968. When Yvonne's farmer parents James and Eunice moved to Arizona from Kansas, they turned to LTH for help with their special needs daughter. LTH sincerely thanks the numerous organizations (and many others) whose activities helped Yvonne have a meaningful life: Ability 360, Alpha Pi and Beta Chapters, E.S.A., Arizona Foundation for the Handicapped, Arizona Recreation Center for the Handicapped, Ballard Spahr, Boys League Charity-North Valley, Breakfast Civitans, Camp Civitan, Central United Methodist, Christian Ambassadors (charter member) CrossRoads United Methodist, DES Division of Developmental Disabilities, The Fountains United Methodist, George Kanold (Mary Coyle's Ice Cream Birthday Angel), Hands on Greater Phoenix, Let It Roll Bowl, Litchfield Park First Baptist, Los Olivos Senior Center Association, Madison Baptist, Phoenix Bird Civitans (charter), Phoenix Civitans, Scouts Venture Crew #2529 (charter), Squaw Peak Rotary, Sun City Civitans, Sun Lakes United Methodist, United Methodist Women, Westside Civitans and Whispering Hope Ranch. Special thanks to the residents and staff who showered Yvonne with love at LTH's Joyce Ridge Civitan House, Lynwood House, Marlette House and Day Training Program. Yvonne's favorite activities were bowling, bingo and praying for others - the latter she did daily and mightily. Now it's our turn to pray for Yvonne. Rest in peace. Graveside service is 10am, Friday, June 3rd at SunWest Cemetery, 12525 N.W. Grand Ave, El Mirage. Memorial service is 2pm. Sat., June 11th, Central United Methodist, 1875 N. Central Ave. Phx.
