Evelyn Joanne Aker Koeck Obituary
Koeck, Evelyn Joanne Aker
Our beloved mother passed away on August 3, 2010, after a sudden illness. Evelyn was born on June 25, 1921, in Yonkers, New York. She was the seventh child of Hannah and Nelson J. Aker. We know that Evelyn has now been joyously reunited with her parents and her faithful husband Duffy. Duffy and Evelyn were married on March 3, 1942, at St. Joseph's Church. She fulfilled her life first as a wife and then as a mother. Evelyn has left her children Joanne, Nelson, and Evan a long legacy of love and countless memories. Likewise, Evelyn has been the proud grandmother of six grandchildren Kimberly, Jay, Will, Robert, Bryan, and Mary Kate. Elise, Claire, Billy, Cassidy Rose, and Arianna Christine will also miss the special companionship of their beautiful great grandmother. Known for her unselfish work as military wife, her tireless effort as an election officer, and her daily parish service at Resurrection Parish, Evelyn will similarly be missed by many genuine friends. A Catholic rosary service has been scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Friday, August 6, at Lakeshore Mortuary, 1815 S Dobson Rd, Mesa, AZ, and a Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, August 7, at 10:00 am at Resurrection Catholic Church, 3201 S. Evergreen St., Tempe, AZ. She will be laid to rest with her beloved husband Duffy, on Sept 27, 2010, at the Arlington National Cemetery, VA.
