David Cumba Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 12, 2011.
Cumba, David
39, who passed away unexpectedly on January 5, 2011 is now at peace. He is survived by his mother, Gail DelGatto Steiner, father Arnold Cumba, devoted sister Jeneen Cumba, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and loved ones who cared for him deeply. David was an inspiring Certified Personal Trainer and an awesome Pizza Cook. He was an amazing dancer and enjoyed being the center of attention on the dance floor. He loved his family, his cats, working out, playing Scrabble and winning at Poker. David's great personality, heartwarming smile, terrific sense of humor and easy way of making us laugh will be missed more than words can express. He will be in our thoughts and our hearts always. Memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army Adult Rehab Center, (602) 256-4500. Services are private. Arrangements entrusted to: Shadow Mountain Mortuary

I am very saddened to hear the news of Davids passing. I met him freshman year in High school. We hit it off straight away. He had a great sense of humor, a very caring, LOYAL person. In retrospect, he really was one of my "true" friends. Unfortunately as life takes us down different paths we hadn't spoken much throughout the years. However, I thought of him often and always considered him with me, in my heart... My friend, I'll miss you.

To his sister Jeneen.... Whenever David talked about you, I could feel the love, the special bond you two shared. His love was clear and wanted/insisted the best for you. I'm truly sorry for your loss, as I am to your entire family.

Mike.

To my beloved brother, David. I have faith you're in heaven & it's all you dreamed it would be. You found inner peace, love & happiness. I know you will be a devoted husband & worlds greatest dad just as you always wished because you were a true friend, caring significant other & loving brother & son. You always knew the right things to say and do to make me laugh & cheer me up. Over the years we never strayed to far apart from one another for very long. I know that's why I can't imagine my life without you in it. I can only hope someday I will too be saved & we will be together again. When we were together I always felt safe, always keeping me in the corner of your eye. Even now, knowing you are my guardian Angel watching over me. I would give anything to hug you & kiss your cheek one more time. So every time I see the sun I'll know you are smiling, when I feel the warmth of the sun shining down upon me I'll know you're hugging me. I think of you all the time, each day & I'm fortunate to have you as my brother. I will always miss the special bond we shared. I miss you & love you very much, your devoted sister, Jeneen

I am deeply saddened by the loss of my partner David and my heart goes out to Gail and Jeneen who have lost such a wonderful son and brother. David and I met at the gym several years ago. After we first met we would arrive at the gym at the same time just so that we could both work-out and see each other every day. Soon we started dating and it didn't take long for me to fall in love with him. His smile and laughter brightened my life; he always had something funny to say. David really enjoyed making pizza which he did very well. When he was finished work for the night I couldn't wait for him to come home and walk through the front door. Sometimes he would bring a pizza home with him and we would stay up late eating it and talking. During our time together we had many special moments and I feel very privileged to have been able to share my life and my love with him. I loved to feel his kiss and his embrace - it made me feel safe and my world was right. David was a very handsome man - I especially loved to feel his bald head when he hadn't shaved for a couple of days - it felt just like rubbing velvet. He was also a big, strong man which often intimidated others but he was really a very sensitive, gentle and caring person; he was beautiful both inside and out and I will miss him and his love forever. I do feel very fortunate for the time that we were able to share together. I love David with all my heart and soul and I miss him every hour of every day.

Dear Ryan, Thank you for your kind words about David, & how special we both know he was. Thank you for coming to his service. I apologize as I don't think I met you that evening - every thing was a blur & so painful to endure. Thank you too for being his friend. I'm sure he's smiling just thinking about times you spent together. All of us who loved him will miss him terribly. Sincerely, Gail, David's mom.

I remember Dave for his kind heart and everlasting smile. I lost touch with him and this news was so unexpected, the world is a little dimmer. I will remember him dancing the night away, I remember those days when he came to AZ (back before he trimmed his hair off) , he was always kind to me, Thank you, Ryan Abbott

I always looked up to you and loved you. You were one of my first best friends and even if I didn't see you for a while...it was like we never missed a day when I did see you. I can't imagine not knowing that I will see you when I see you. I can only say that I will see you one day when my time comes. Till then take care of yourself and keep an eye on everyone down here.
