Land, James
81, of Scottsdale, Az, passed away on February 16, 2014. Jim was born in Kansas City, MO on March 3, 1932. He attended Shawnee Mission H.S., Roswell Military Institute, graduating from the University of Oklahoma. He was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity and served in active duty and reserves of the Air Force, retiring as a Major. Jim's working life was in the savings and loan industry - First Federal, then into the title and trust division of Arizona Title and Trust. His civic life was first to his church of Madison Baptist as a moderator, trustee and building chairman, then to Scottsdale Bible where he served many years as a greeter and usher. As an Eagle Scout he served for ten years with the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts as a leader and hike coordinator. His other interests were as secretary with the Sertoma Club of Scottsdale and on the board of the North Phoenix Optimist Club for 10 years. He is survived by his wife Nancy, sons David (Karen), Stephen (Donna) and cousin Mary Kay Hoffman. A memorial will be held at Scottsdale Bible Chapel, 7901 E. Shea Blvd, Scottsdale, on Saturday March 1st at 10:00 a.m. Internment will be at a later
date. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Scottsdale Bible Church Building Fund. Arrangements entrusted to Messinger Indian School Mortuary.
