Hood, Kenneth "Kenny" Charles
Born Jan 31, 1923 in Globe AZ, passed on Feb 23, 2014 in Sun Lakes AZ at age 91. Ken served in the Army Air Core in WWII with the rank of 1st Lieutenant, flying 35 missions in a B17 as navigator bombardier. Returning from the service, he married his high school sweetheart, "Lu" Rosa, and graduated from the University of Arizona with a BS in Electrical Engineering. He spent his professional career at Arizona Public Service retiring after 35 years as head of "System Electric". He was a loving husband, father and devoted friend, always willing to lend a helping hand or attentive ear when needed. Ken was a mentor not only to his sons but to others who would come to him for advice and guidance. Loved and admired by all he will be truly missed. Ken is preceded in death by his wife Lucile of over 55 years and survived by his 3 sons: K Michael (Cyndi), Casey (Christy), Jim (Beth); 9 grandchildren: Jennifer, Christine, Kimberly, Matt, Lauren, Adam, Ryan, Michael, Ashley; and 4 great grandchildren: Mercedes, Abrigail, Brianna, and Coen. Services will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Whitney Murphy Funeral Home, located at 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix.
