June Leona (Scott) Hammond, 90, was called to be with the Lord on Sunday March 16, 2014. She was born in Canton, Ohio in 1923 the daughter of Ralph and Leona Scott. She was preceded in death by her much loved husband Daniel Raymond "Ray" Hammond in 2005 and her sisters Hazel Millikin of Navarre, Ohio in 2012 and Rosemary Turkson of Carrolton, Ohio in 2011. She raised a loving family of three daughters who with their families enjoyed spending time with her. She is survived by her daughters and their families: Sandy Lintner and husband Larry, Kay Beachy and husband Dan, Mary Lou Burkhart and husband Tom; grandchildren, Scott Beachy and wife Nicole, Steven Burkhart and wife Rynata, Danielle (Burkhart) Cooley and husband Dennis, great granddaughter Allyson Beachy and brother-in-law Leo Hammond of Hanoverton, Ohio. June was a homemaker and assisted Ray in building his business over many years, Hammond Acoustical Company in Canton, Ohio. She was a skilled baker, cookie and candy maker, who would share her creations with friends and family. She was an exceptional seamstress and taught her daughters how to sew. She and her husband Ray retired and moved to Arizona from Ohio in 1972. They lived in Moon Valley, had second homes in Pinewood and Prescott that the entire family visited and enjoyed, and then finally settled in Sun City West. Funeral service for June will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Sunland Memorial Park Mortuary, 15826 Del Webb Blvd, Sun City, AZ followed by interment at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 North Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ 85024 at 1:00 pm.
