Nicholas A. Flower

Obituary Condolences

Nicholas A. Flower Obituary
Flower, Nicholas A.
Our beloved Nick passed away on March 20, 2014. Nick was born in Cleveland, OH and came to the Valley in 1954. Nick's first love was flying. He joined the U.S. Air Force right after high school where he became an instructor pilot. After the Air Force, he was an airline pilot and then a corporate pilot for several large companies in the East. Nick had several businesses in Phoenix, including Union Oil gas stations and a cabinet shop. He then joined Levitz Furniture where he became VP and Regional General Manager. Nick was a true renaissance man: he could fly a plane, design and built a house and built beautiful furniture. Nick is survived by his wife of 40 years, Alice; his daughter Darlene and her husband, Jack; and by his 3 grandchildren Cynthia, Kristin and Antonio; 1 great-grandson Wilson; and by his brother-in-law Tom, sister-in-law Kim, their son Jeremy and by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Thank you to and to all his friends and neighbors who gave support during the last year. A special thanks to Jim and Gail Spero whose support and comfort meant so much. Thank you, also, to Gary who was always there to help. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to at hov.org or Arizona Humane Society at azhumane.org . Nick, may you fly with the angels forever. Gathering of friends from 2:00-5:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 27, 2014 at Hansen Chapel, 8314 N. 7th Street, Phoenix, AZ. Please visit www.hansenmortuary.com for online condolences.
