Scott, Thomas Marvin
85, passed away on April 7, 2014. He was born November 3, 1928 in Mesa, Arizona to Thomas J. Scott and Cleo Stapley Johnson. He graduated from Mesa High School in 1946 then attended the University of Arizona in Tucson. He served in the Korean War and trained troops in Hawaii as a sergeant 1st class. Marvin loved sports. In high school he played on the 1945 All State Football Team and lettered all four years of high school in football, basketball, baseball and track. He still holds many school records. Growing up he worked for his grandfather's hardware and farm equipment business - the O.S. Stapley Company. He then went on to build his own business (M&S Equipment) with his sons which consist of three Case IH Farm Equipment stores in central Arizona. Marvin is survived by his wife Ruth (Claridge), his sons Tom (Miki Brown), Brad (LaShelle Austin) and Brent (ThelmaJean Allen), 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Services will be held Saturday, April 12, 2014 at the LDS Pleasant 3rd Ward Building at 800 W. Chandler Heights Rd, Chandler Arizona. A viewing will be held at 8:30 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10:00 a.m. Arrangements are being made through Meldrum Mortuary in Mesa.
